Race Morning

Start Time — First wave will begin at 6:30 AM on June 28th. An email will be sent with additional wave start times & detailed information the week prior. Check our website in mid-June for up-to-date race-day info.

Route Description

Google Earth files — If the Google Earth software is installed on your computer, you can use these files for bird's eye views of the routes. Note: If your web browser does not ask you how to open these files, right-clicking them will allow you to choose to save them.

Transition Area — Transition area is located immediately south of the front of Loveland High School in Owens Field. It will open at 5:15am on race day. Race day packet pickup will begin at 5:00am on June 28. PACKET pickup on Friday will be 3pm-8-pm.

Swim — The 1500 meter swim is in Lake Loveland, a private lake which you can see from Highway 34. The start of the swim will be in the beach area and will go counter clockwise, exiting just southeast of the start point. You are required to wear a swim cap which will be provided to you. Wetsuits are allowed.

Bicycle start

Bike — The 30 mile ride will leave parking lot at Loveland High School and immediately turn west. (left) West to Wilson Ave. turn south.(left) South to W. 22nd turn west. (right) W22nd will take you to Cascade Ave and you will exit Cascade Ave. at Hwy 34, from Hwy 34 proceed west to WILD LANE. Volunteers will be posted at all potential turns. Continue on Wild Lane to GLADE RD. (5 mile mark) Continue on Glade Rd. to right hand turn at Glade Rd./CR 38. The first aid station will be be just east of this intersection at approx. 10 mile mark. Course continues around Horsetooth to and you will descend on Harmony Rd. to the southern tip of Ft. Collins. The route will turn south(right) on Taft Hill Road (Wilson in Loveland) Wilson to 43rd St. (this is a change from last year) 43rd to Taft Ave. turn right at Taft Ave, lefthand turn at Beech Ave, which will take you around sculpture pond and directly across 29th St. back into the LHS parking lot. There will be one additional aid station on the bike route. NO DRAFTING ALLOWED!!!

Running event

Run — New out and back course to avoid crossover between runners and cyclists returning to parking lot. The running course will leave transition area, heading southeast across Owens Field down small hill to Logan Dr. Follow course north at Custer Dr. to 29th. 29th to Lake Dr. Lake Dr. to Garfield Ave. South on Garfield Ave. to Lake. This street will lead you to bike path where you will proceed west along Lake Loveland approx. 1 mile before turn around point. Course will return you to Custer Ave. where you will enter park area for last leg of run. AID STATIONS EVERY MILE WITH COLD WATER AND GATORADE. The finish line is near the amphitheater where more COLD water will be handed to you. Cool down...relax...and enjoy the post race meal.
